Char Dham Yatra is the spiritual journey of a lifetime — but only if the operator understands that most pilgrims are 55–80 years old. Our Char Dham packages for senior citizens are built around slower daily distances, ground-floor rooms where possible, oxygen support at Kedarnath and a tour manager + doctor on every group. Plus pure vegetarian / Jain food at every stop.
Why this Char Dham is different
- 12–14 days, not 9 — we never compress Char Dham into <11 days for senior groups. Acclimatisation matters.
- Helicopter option for Kedarnath — 16-minute flight vs 17 km pony/palki trek (extra cost, but transformative for knees).
- Pure veg / Jain dharamshalas at Yamunotri and Gangotri (we book Birla Dharamshala and similar trusted guesthouses).
- Oxygen cylinder on every vehicle at Kedarnath and Badrinath altitudes.
- Doctor on-call via mobile for the group leader throughout.
- No overnight road travel — every day ends in a hotel, not on a bus.

Tips before booking Char Dham for elderly parents
- Get a doctor's fitness certificate, especially for altitude (Kedarnath is 11,755 ft).
- Carry diamox (consult doctor) — start 1 day before Kedarnath ascent.
- Book early (Feb–Apr) — opening month (May) and Sawan are the busiest.
- Pre-arrange e-pass / yatra registration — we do this for you.
- Take helicopter to Kedarnath if knees are weak — pony/palki is exhausting for elderly.
